What is this trip?

Hello friends and family!!

In this blog I just want to explain what this trip is and what we will be doing, and also share ways you can be praying as I prepare!!

I get to go on this missions trip with the organization Adventure in Mission (The world race). This organization has trips all year that span from a few weeks to almost a full year long missions trip. I will be going on one of their semester trips that is about 3 months long. I am going on one of their fall trips that will be from the end of August to mid November. This trip will include people from all over the United States, and we will meet for the first time when our trip starts.

Where I am going and what we will be doing there:

I am going to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. I will be starting my time with a two week training camp in Gainesville, Georgia. From there we will be heading out of the country, but I do not know yet which country we will be going to first. In Costa Rica we will be working with a YWAM (a different missions organization) team near the town of Puerto Viejo. During our time there we will be focusing on community outreach, this can look very different depending on the day. However some things this may include are children’s ministry, tutoring, sports outreach, working with local churches, serving individuals or just having conversation with locals and sharing the gospel with them. I do not yet know where we will be going in Nicaragua or what our day to day will look like. Ministry most of this time will depend on what we feel the community needs and however we can best serve people at that time. We will finish our time back in Georgia with a debrief of our trip before we head back home.

I will be needing a lot of prayer as I get ready for this trip! Here are some ways you can pray for me and my squad mates!!

• Continuing to grow in my relationship with God while preparing for this trip
• That the squad will work well together and be able to make good friendships
• Prayer for safety and health
• Prayer that God will grow me and my teammates in faith when we are put in unknown situations
• Prayer that the people we interact with will have their hearts open to what God has to say through us
• Prayer that we can make an impact in people’s lives and the community we are going into
• Prayer that this trip can be a joyful time filled with God’s presence
